We are dedicated to social justice and driving positive change in Pittsburgh education and beyond. We prioritize scholar voice to build leaders, expanding their perspectives on both academic and social issues.

Academics & Unique Programs

Propel Braddock Hills High School blends academic rigor with five hands-on vocational pathways designed to prepare scholars for high-demand careers:

  • Health Related & Emergency Response: Focuses on life-saving protocols, medical terminology, and community wellness for aspiring healthcare professionals and first responders.

  • Advanced Manufacturing & Welding: Combines craftsmanship and technology, offering technical certifications in metal fabrication and precision engineering.

  • Aviation & Drone Technology: Explores aerodynamics, flight safety, and piloting skills for the rapidly growing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry.

  • Military Leadership & Civic Duty: Emphasizes discipline, ethics, strategic thinking, teamwork, and civic responsibility.

  • Sports Performance & Athletic Leadership: Covers kinesiology, coaching ethics, and the business of sports to train future fitness and athletic leaders.

These diverse offerings ensure every scholar graduates with the technical skills and purpose to excel in Pittsburgh's most essential industries.

Athletics

Propel Andrew Street High School scholars have the opportunity to participate in interscholastic competition through Propel Athletics. We believe in developing skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Our sports offerings include:

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Propel Braddock Hills High School strives to create a community where scholars are prepared to become active and engaged citizens through authentic and compelling learning experiences. College and career exploration, along with character building, are activities our scholars are engaged in on a daily basis. We are dedicated to social justice and creating a positive change in the education landscape of Pittsburgh and beyond. 

OUR APPROACH

In our classes, scholars are expected to demonstrate mastery of learning targets, statements of the content, and skills taught in each course derived from PA State and Common Core standards. Our teachers design instruction that supports scholar mastery of these targets, allowing us to state, to a high degree, the specific skills and content that our scholars know and can do.

POST-SECONDARY OPPORTUNITIES

Our scholars prepare for life after high school through our Financial Literacy course required of all scholars in 11th grade. Eligible scholars can also take part in our dual-enrollment partnership with CCAC and Point Park University.
